Nothing better than being King Khan... is there?

You can count on the King to be different, and different he was when he flew down to Jaipur after 18 years to launch the Carerra range of wristwatches by Tag Heuer. Clad in a light grey suit with a perfect white shirt inside, he seemed to have a long way from the traditional ‘man in black’.
Despite being all of his 39 years and still as charming as a young schoolboy, Shahrukh Khan declared himself as a 40 year old at a recent press meet. “I find being 40 sexier than being 35 or 39,” he says when first asked. But feeling sexy is not the real point, as he soon confides, “I find a shift in my fans towards Amit Saab, because he is elder. I hope with my being 40, more of the elder women will continue to find me appealing.” No wonder then, he is known to be an astute businessman.
"I will stay 40 as long as you keep taking my photographs and come to see me.” When Sushmita Sen, who was present with him at the event, voted him as the sexier of the two (Amitabh Bachchan and him), his comment, “I won” didn’t sound like he was joking.
In an era of big-budgeted projects bombing nearly every week at the box office, his films continue to make waves. “To be modest, I think I have had the best writers and filmmakers backing me, with all of that I don’t think there was much to worry. To be pompous, it is all because of me.”
For him acting is all about entertainment. “I am an entertainer. It’s my job to entertain. At the end of the time that people spend with me, I want them to feel entertained. Acting has given me an opportunity to fulfill my mission and passion.”
Christmas is around the corner but one hasn’t heard much about his good work for the society. “I like to keep my acts of charity to myself. Though, I have to admit that the kind of lifestyle that we actors have makes us lose sight of the real world, there are organisations like the UNICEF that come along to remind us of our obligations.” Shah Rukh has worked in some of the documentaries by the UNICEF based on social causes. He has high hopes from his children, especially now that Aryan, his son, is becoming a familiar figure first with his brief act in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and now with his voice for Tez, in the Indian version of The Incredibles. Does he want his son also to become a Shah Rukh Khan? “Of course. There is nothing better than Shah Rukh Khan, is there?”
