The pretty new Pataudi princess

She maybe a new-comer but she is surely has all it takes to be an estabilished one. Soha Ali Khan, daughter of Nawab pataudi and vetern actor Sharmila Tagore and little sister to Saif Ali Khan, was in the capital as the new brand ambassador of Frankfinn Air Hostess Academy.

Why an Air Hostess academy, when most Bollywood stars and starlets are busy endorsing expensive watches and swanky vehicles? “I believe in the ideas and thins that I endorse,” says Soha who is also an ambassador of Fair and Lovely’s Perfect Radiance range of cosmetics. “I like the company and the product. In the case of Franfinn, I like the institute and the work that they are doing.” A quick addition to that is, “However, I have nothing against endorsing expensive watches and vehicles.”

Though she was highly praised for her performance in her debut film in Bengali, Iti Shrikanto, she does not want to be typecast. “I am not interested in doing only arty films or english films or even regional films, I want to grow as an actress. I have just finished shooting for Rituparno Ghosh’s Antar Mahal with Abhishek Bachchan and Jackie Shroff," where she plays the role of Jackie’s second wife. "Then there is a mainstream hindi film, Dil Maange More with Shahid Kapur, Ayesha Takia and Tulip Joshi and I have also signed up for an english film Yatna by Ragshi Joshi who is based in Los Angeles.

“I have always received a lot of respect from the people I met in Bollywood and I owe it to my parents. I am grateful to them for being there for me,” she says. “Both my parents have been very open-minded and the three of us were always encouraged to do what we believed in.” Soha had been an executive with Citibank, Mumbai before she ventured into films. “My father is far from happy with my decision to join films, but I am stubborn and he can see that I am happy with what I am doing.”

Shedding inhibitions for films is a must. Where does she draw the line? “I do not believe in exposing for the sake of exposing but, if the plot demands it then I may.” So would she be able to do a Jism? “I am uncomfortable about taking off my clothes, maybe I won’t be able to do it.” Maybe? “I studied political science, I am bound to be diplomatic.”
