I am a very shy person: Samira Reddy

Clad in a safari dress that ended a good many inches above her knees, Samira Reddy was the centre of attraction at the Shopper’s Stop at Gurgaon more for her tantrums than for her two-minute shot.
In town to shoot for an episode of MTV’s Roadies Part 2, the Darna Mana Hai girl was all offended by the uncomfortable bed she had to sit on while waiting for the shoot to happen, not to mention the discomfort of not having the air-conditioning up to the mark.
She was hot, and that was for all to see.
Settling down for an interview with the media persons, she coyly pulls a dupatta from a mannequin nearby, places it across her exposed thighs and says, “If you think my image is that of a bold girl, you are wrong. I am a very shy person.”
“Though my character in Darna Mana Hai was very well accepted by the people, only I know what kind of effort I put in to have that kind of a look,” rued the dusky starlet.
“I have drawn the line for myself and will never cross it.”
So does the line include the hot smooch scene with Anil Kapoor in Musafir? “If I am convinced of the script only then will I be able to convince the audience of its justification,” she says. “Every actor who said she would not take off her clothes has done exactly that. I do not want to do the same.”
Speaking about Musafir, her next film directed by Sanjay Gupta (of Kaante fame), she says, “I have heard a lot of rumours about the film. All I can say is that the speculations are all wrong. But the speculation is doing good for the film’s publicity, so I don’t want to stop it.”
Musafir is about the journey of Anil Kapoor. It is also my journey within me. In fact, all of us who star in the beginning of the film end up being very different. Everyone has a strong role in the film.” As for her role in the film she says, “I have a lot of shades to my character in the film. My character is that of a very traumatised woman.”
The ongoing skinshow in films is not offensive at all for her. “The audience is bored. They want to see something after which they can go home with a sense of fulfillment. If you give them the same old stories of saas-bahu and the like, they won’t come to watch films anymore.”
Asked what she likes to do except films, “Sitting in a hot, stuffy corner of a crowded mall and answering journalist’s queries.”
